Human Rights Education For Kids

To help kids learn about Human Rights, motivate their parents to have awareness about the universal definition of Human Rights, engage with fundamental human rights, deepen their understanding and appreciation of the human rights’ universal principles, build a better future for communities, and advance the culture, the Intelligent Change Management Think Tank For Human Rights (Federally Registered Non-Profit in Canada) has developed this program.

The Content

All elements of the program are (will remain) free of charge. This is being designed, packaged, and translated by a team that includes expertise such as human rights, kids' education, and English translation. We leveraged the printed materials and online content developed by the UN (and artist Yacine Ait Kaci) and USIDHR about the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (an international document adopted by the United Nations General Assembly).

About The Video

The video is very short.

It reviews the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” quickly.

The wording has been slightly adjusted to the level that kids understand better.

The Draw

How to Participate

  • Step 1: The kid must watch the video.
  • Step 2: The kid must draw a picture about one of the concepts mentioned in the video.
  • Step 3: The submission form below must be completed, and the drawing (scanned copy or a photo of it) must be attached.

After the deadline,  a drawing will be held and 10 winners will be announced. This program is not competitive. Due to the wide age range of the participants and the difference in their drawing skills, the drawings are not used as a judging criterion. Instead of competing, all submitted drawings that have correctly and completely completed the relevant form will be entered into a drawing.

  • Participants must be under eighteen years of age. From elementary school to high school, everyone can participate.
  • Ten prizes will be awarded, each an Amazon card with the value of $50 Canadian, or its equivalent.

How to Complete the Form

  • Entering the kid's first name, country, kid's age, an email address are required.
  • To protect privacies, entering the last name is not required.
  • The email address is required to uniquely identify each submission. It can optionally be the kid's or parent's email or another free email address (different from your own). The winner notification/announcement email will be sent to that email address, so the provided email address needs to be checked regularly.
  • The kid's art (drawing's subject) must be related to one of the items in the video and must be attached when you submit the form (uploading a scanned copy or photo of the drawing).
